This english class was very valuable to me for three big reasons. Reason is that I can conduct research in a timely and professional matter. Number two is that I can gather a huge amount of research. What I mean was before the class I could perform and gather a "okay" amount of research, but now I can go beyond that and use a multitude of techniques to do so. The last reason is that I can now write a college level paper and be confident on doing so because of the techniques I now know. In my opinion the class was perfect for me to perfect my skills for college.

RJA#14:
"Amazing Propaganda Posters." www.oddee.com N.p., 21 Dec. 2006. Web. 19 Nov. 2009.
This site has a great selection of propaganda posters from World War II. The site shows
was messages were depicted in the posters by categorizing them and giving each poster a
short summary.
Areas, Alejandro, Diana L. Linden, and Jonathan Weinberg. The social and the real : political art of the 1930s in the western hemisphere. Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania State University Press, 2006. 1-2. Print.
This book is a great that takes a look art created in the 1930’s. The type of artwork presented in the book is that of social realism. Since the Great Depression hit in the 1930’s the book explains how artists’ art started to become more realistic more than anything else. It also explains how the art reflected the current economy of that time and politics of society.
Cline, Austine. "Propaganda vs. Art." About.com: Agnostic/Atheism The New York Times Company, 1 Sept. 2005. Web. 19 Nov. 2009.
This interesting article is about how propaganda and art are similar and differ. While stating how the two influence society in their own ways.
Holocaust Encyclopedia United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 4 May 2009. Web. 19 Nov. 2009.
This site contains many articles on the history the National Socialist party, the Holocaust, and the impact it had at the time. The particular page I used for the paper was specifically about the use of propaganda to get the German people to side with Nazis in the Jewish genocide.

Well I intend to just give a nice background on propaganda. I will start with a short history of propaganda. Then move onto some examples of true propaganda. From there next I will progress to modern propaganda. After I will explain who uses propaganda and why. Finally I will conclude with some examples of issues with propaganda.

RJA #12a: Progress Report
1.) So what I hae completed is my intro and and part II. Part II would be the part on background information. Where I left of was on part II. Part III was Argument, so I proceed to present the arguments for propaganda. That is pretty much where I left off.
2.) I still need to finish part III's arguments for propaganda. From there I plan to complete part IV, he counter arguments for propaganda. The counter arguments are a bit longer then the argument for. I need to explain sub-parts A, B, C, and D. From there I plan to move my opinion or the whole argument and where I stand. After that all that's let to do is the conclusion.

Art vs. Propaganda
RJA #11a: Introduction
" A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put onto canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing." (Giorgio Morandi). For many years art and its varied uses have been widely disputed. One of which is the political use of art, otherwise known as propaganda. According to dictionary.reference.com, propaganda is information, ideas or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement institution, and nation. Propaganda should not be considered apart of art due to the many problems it creates. In order to properly understand how propaganda has become such a problem in the art world, one needs some background information.

Research question> Should politics stay out of art?
Answer/Thesis/Claim> My thesis statement is: Politics should not be apart of art due to the
many problemas it creates.
Ethos> Yes the auidence would find appeals based on ethos persuasive. By sitghting and quoting
sed authority and creditble.
Pathos> Yes the auidence would find appeals based on on pathos persuasive. I would say
around the middle of paper and the climax too. I will use my passionate writting to
move the auidence.
Logos> Yes the audience would find appeals based on logos persuasive. I will explain to the
audience certain logical reasons as to why politics should stay out of art. And reason
with them as to how and why.

RJA #7a: Internet Research Tools:
I mainly use both googole.com and yahoo.com as my primary internet research tools. Reason being is that they are easy to use and recieve what I want. For example if I want an article about dogs, I just type it in and BAM! dogs everywhere. But this aslo is a big draw back if I want something very specific. Because they will also give me a great amount os miscallenous garbage. Unless I type in my very specific search to they seach engines' liking. In short at times they can be very lame. Ha ha.

Research Journal Assignment # 3
RJ3b: I think I may have to expand my topic. Reason being is that every time I reasearch my topic there is a dead end where the only research there is only fits into a couple of paragraphs. In order to write good research paper expansions is necessary. One solution to this problem would be to come up with a good research question that is broad enough to properly gather research.
RJ3c: Who is against political art?
Why is political art such a big deal?
Who supports political art?
Should polticis stay out of art?
What issues do propaganda and art have with eachother?

Research Journal Assignment #2
RJA 2a: A couple of topics I am interested in are...
- Art vs. Pornography
- Art vs. Propaganda
(Most likely the second one)
RJA 2b: I have choosen the topic of art vs. propaganda. Reason being is that propaganda and art hugely debated topics. Not to mention that the political uses of art are widely disputed. I also find the history between the two very interesting. I wish to find a proper side amongst the two of them.
The topic art vs. propaganda is quite a difficult topic. Which is why I find it quite enjoyable. Art by definition is "skilled workmanship, execution, or agency, as distinguished from nature". While propaganda is "the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person". Aside from that I aslo know political uses of art are widely diputed. Also that many people think that art should not take a political stand point.
What I do not know is as to why many people think there is no such thing as political-art. Also wh causes people to, in short, freak out when art takes a politcal stand. I wish to aslo learn one influences the other. Wether it be good or bad.
